NSBO MEMBER'S LAPEL STICKPIN

A silver-washed alloy lapel pin, in the form of the NSBO emblem, approximately 17mm square. The emblem is comprised of, to the right, a disembodied hand holding upright a hammer with a static swastika to its head, with a partial cogged wheel proceeding to the left, against which is "N.S.B.O." This is a leadership patch for those members of the Bund Deutschen Madel (BDM) who had reached staff positions. This patch was worn on the lightweight white, cotton tunic that was worn in high summer. This is quite a rare piece of Jugend insignia. This was brought back by a vet and tied in a bundle with a note. The badge consists of a roughly, 55mm diameter Luftwaffe blue/grey wool base with a machine embroidered, seven spoked wheel rim and tire with an upward swept wing emanating from the central hub all in silvery/grey threads.
