WW1 SPRINGFIELD 1905 BAYONET W/CANVAS SCABBARD US

THIS BAYONET HAS JUST COME FROM A WW1 US MARINES ESTATE AND HAS NEVER BEEN CLEANED<CAME WITH OTHER KNIFE I HAVE LISTED.This is a M-1905 Bayonet with the canvass covered wood and rawhide scabbard. The bayonet has no bluing and looks like it never did, has never been sharpened, 16" long blade and the original wood grips have no cracks and are in good condition. The blade is marked "US" and a serial number on one side and "SA", the Ordinance Department's flaming bomb, and the date "1913" on the other. The locking mechanism works flawlessly and there is rust on the guard. The canvass scabbard cover dose have some fading and discoloring and one hole on side but looks solid with no rot. The leather tip is firmly attached with the stitching intact. Originals are hard to find in condition this good.

NEW PRICE Original WWII officers grade overcoat with owners name in pocket. Panzer sew in boards coming a bit loose as pictured. Name is to an Captian so he either was promoted and sewed in his own boards or they are post war additions. Purchased as is about 15 years ago. This is a good overcoat for display purposes in that there are a few small moth nips here and there, nothing big. Has dagger hanger , makers label, and all buttons. CONSIGNMENT ITEM!

This example is a solid version, with a slightly domed reverse. Approximately 90% of the original finish is intact. The reverse has a vertically mounted pin the functions perfectly . A very nice example! Maker marked B&N L. This badge was instituted on June 1, 1940 and was intended for award to personnel who supported an attack but were not eligible for Infantry or Armored Assault Badges. It was awarded to members of the Artillery, Engineers, Anti-Tank and Anti-Aircraft Units that served the Infantry or Armor in an auxiliary role in the conduct of the assault. Medical personnel were also eligible if they cared for wounded under close combat conditions. CONSIGNMENT ITEM! A

Die struck zinc construction, solid backed, not a common maker. Catch is bent but present. Hymmen & Co of Ludenscheid…the L/53 mark is attributed to this company. They made the die cast badges with their logo on the reverse in the center of the badge.

Nice example , wool with greyish skull and buckrum backing. Has some kind of pencil writing to back.

Nice original tab with two pips and tress,buckrum backing, the two pips look the same from the front but are mismatched on rear.

NAVY K-98 BAYONET MINT

This is your typical early period example, displaying the smooth finish to the hilt and scabbard. The hilt surfaces display no wear. The mortise button is fully functional and upon closer examination is stamped (37). The reverse, upper pommel edge is twice Waffen-Amt stamped with the number 37 below. The grip plates are the purple bakelite style exhibiting a few scratches! They are retained by the standard screws and spanners showing no wear. The blade has a blued finish, grading 95% with the wear confined to the runner areas. The blade grades excellent! The obverse ricasso is stamped with the serial number ‘3697’ over the letter ‘e’. The reverse ricasso is stamped with the maker's name , GEBR HELLER Finally, the spine is stamped with the number 39, which signifies that this piece was made in the year 1939. The straight scabbard, like the bayonet itself, has a smooth finish. The reverse scabbard ball is stamped with a single mark ? . The obverse scabbard throat area is matching stamped the serial number ‘3697’ over the letter ‘e’. The frog is the smoothtexture variety, without a retaining strap, exhibiting little wear, grading excellent-. The reverse side is stamped with a Unit marking (M) for navy! And is maker marked and dated 1941. The frog grades excellent. A NICE piece for a combat display!
