GERMAN WWII SS OFFICERS VISOR HAT. HAT OWNED BY SS DR. WILHELM PATIN

Cousin of Heinrich Himmler
This is an early SS Visor hat in beautiful condition absent any moth damage or wear. The hat is about 7 ¼ size and belonged to SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer Dr. Wilhelm August PATIN, SS- Ausweis Number 107046. He was a Canon in the church and a Dominican priest and a liaison between the Catholic Church and the SS. I originally owned his uniform with SD Hauptampt cuff titles on the overcoat and tunic. These items were previously sold years ago (prior to my knowing his relationship to himmler). The hat comes with an original war time photo of Patin along with an original ID stamped by Himmler authorizing wearing of the uniform. The insignia is original to the hat and I have never removed it. It appears to be silver but I’m really not sure. The sweat shield has the SS logo along with the name strip “SS Untersturmfuhrer Dr. Wilhelm Patin”. The visor is the early leather type and the chin strap and buttons are original to the hat. Also included are several copies of photos of Patin and numerous pages of his service record as obtained from the German archives. If you google his name along with Himmlers’, You will find a lot of information confirming his relationship to Himmler. The hat also has the very early an rare “Free Sale RZM Tag” which I have found in early SA coffee can hats. Also included with the hat is a 1942 published book by Dr. Patin (in German) with over 300 pages of text and a few pages of photos. Inside there are copies of a 1943 delievery notice & receipt made out to an SS General. NO PAYPAL + Ins
