GAU THING KOBLENZ 1935 TINNIE
This is an interesting tinnie - very lightweight - stamped from a sheet of thin metal in the form of a vertically oriented oval with a national eagle at the top, and given a golden bronze finish (now nicely toned darker). The text reads simply Gau Thing with the two cities (Koblenz and Trier), and the date of 22 through 23 June 1935. Thing is an antique Germanic word meaning an assembly of free men (for decision making; Iceland speaks a northern Germanic language - highest government chamber is even today called the Thing). The tinnie reverse has a horizontal, soldered-on pin (works fine). Great example.
